LOVE AND APPRECIATION FOR THE TEMPLE
Our presence in the temple gives us a feeling of peace. Those who have
attended the temple, or plan to attend, may often have one that is
considered as "their" temple. Experiences surrounding one may cause us
to believe it is special thus giving a feeling that a particular temple
is where we want to be sealed for time and eternity.
Every temple is special because the Holy Ghost is present within. They
are beautiful. The Mesa Temple was dedicated in 1927. It is rumored that when renovations
were later planned it was learned a place for an elevator was already
present. That knowledge was not previously known and it was a great
relief to those whose task was to install one.
Temple ordinances and sealings are the reason for the church and the
foundation of the eternal family. In the October 1984 general
conference, President Howard W. Hunter gave an inspired talk on temple
attendance and worthiness. We need to make temple attendance a priority
in our lives. We need to be a temple attending people.
